Interior designer Diane Burn has crafted a serene villa nestled on the picturesque island of Taboga. Transforming her hillside property in Panama, she artfully combines various periods and cultures, resulting in an eclectic and harmonious blend.
Left: A guest room extends into a secluded courtyard, featuring an outdoor shower enveloped by lofty tropical palms and an expansive hammock, evoking a sense of personal sanctuary, as described by Burn. The paintings adorning the space were acquired from a cooperative in Guatemala. Right: A courtyard.

Right: In the kitchen/dining area, a substantial window, crowned by a late-19th-century transom discovered in Panama City, stands as a focal point. Burn elevated the ceiling by four feet and adorned the surfaces with a rustic cement finish.
